Report of
Imprinted Sportswear Show
In Long Beach

The Tajima Group, along with our US distributor Hirsch International Corp (HIC) exhibited at the ISS Long Beach show at the Long Beach Convention Center. For three days approximately 25 staff members were on hand to help handle the large number of customers attending the show.

Over 1,000 Visitors

There were over 1,000 visitors to the booth, but over 13,000 attendees to the show from all over. This was a very strong showing by HIC and helps to further strengthen our relationship to better support Tajima customers.

New M Series Featuring
the Introduction of the TFMX-C1501

Although HIC's booth featured the new Tajima "TFMX-ⅡC" models from 2-8 heads (known as the M Series), much of the attention centered on the release of the new bridge/cylinder TFMX-C1501, the world's most powerful single head machine, creating quite a buzz and a large number of orders. This workhorse packs the same features, capabilities, flexibility, quality and craftsmanship that you've come to expect from Tajima. The 1501 sews complex 15 color designs on all types of garments such as finished caps, baby caps, sweats, golf shirts, bags, pant legs, gloves, shoes, jackets and more at 1,200 rpm with advanced noise reduction, a large sewing field of up to 17-3/4" x 20-1/2" and automatic thread trimmers. The new 32 bit controller runs at 300Mhz, on WindowsR CE OS and features a full color 6.5" TFT LCD screen showing the location of the needle at any point in the sewing process, X and Y coordinates, machine errors, and more. Standard memory is 2,000,000 stitches and 256 designs can be saved in memory. Either floppy disk or Compact Flash can be used for data transfer as well as USB for networking. A new frame drive yields exact control of the frame drive travel producing stitches of precise length. A new closed system AC Servo pulse motor provides electronic feedback, mitigating contamination and producing more accurate stitching.
An electronic dampening system curtails vibration caused by high speed operation, allowing much faster frame movement and more accracy between stitches. A majority of the electrical system is designed to fit within the frame itself for easy access and more protection of the components.

Some of the improved mechanics include: needle bar stroke increase from 45mm to 47mm for smoother operation and more precise sewing on thicker materials; closer sewing to the bill of the cap due to a new upper thread hook/specially shaped arm; and easier transition between cap. tube and cylindrical, thanks to a new quick change thumb screw.

Demand of Specialty Machines

In the US market, although single and 2 to 8 head models remain very popular, the market has been shifting and there was a great amount of interest in Tajima's full line of specialty machines such as TMCE (Chenille) and TMLH (Cording/ Taping/ Coiling etc) as well as other specialty machines, including lock-stitch machines, laser machines and other special options such as sequins attachment.
