At PI Apparel Europe 2025, held at the scenic Lago Maggiore near Milan, Tajima unveiled a groundbreaking collaboration with Adobe that is set to transform the prototyping process for fashion and apparel.
Integrating Adobe Substance 3D with Embroidery Design
Adobe Substance 3D, a suite of advanced creative applications for hyper-realistic 3D design and visualization, introduced the Embroidery Generator in Substance 3D Sampler several years ago. This feature allows users to instantly convert images and graphics into embroidery patches and apply the unique texture and feel of embroidery to their virtual designs.

From Virtual Design to Real Products
With this first-of-its-kind workflow integration, Tajima enables users to transfer embroidery designs created in Substance 3D Sampler directly into Tajima DG17 embroidery software. This eliminates the need for manual digitization, converting virtual embroidery effects into stitch-ready data with just one click.
By simply specifying the type of fabric to be embroidered, the software automatically applies optimized settings for that material. As a result, production-ready embroidery data is instantly generated and can be run on Tajima’s industry-leading embroidery machines.

Transforming the Design-to-Production Pipeline
This new integration significantly streamlines the process from design to production, enabling creators to confirm results that closely resemble real products with unprecedented speed. By combining Adobe’s visual innovation with Tajima’s embroidery expertise, the partnership represents a major step forward in bridging digital design with real-world manufacturing.
This collaboration with Adobe marks a new milestone in bridging design and manufacturing.
Tajima remains committed to leading the evolution of embroidery workflows in partnership with industry leaders.
The Tajima DG Exporter plug-in for Substance 3D Sampler is now available for download and is compatible with Substance 3D Sampler 5.0.3.
Tajima extends its gratitude to Studio Auriga for their collaboration, technical expertise, and equipment support in demonstrating this new capability.
